Your guide will provide all the necessary safety gear, and you’ll begin with an easy 15-minute walk to the Solheimajokull glacier’s viewing point. Here, your guide will give a briefing on the glacier’s history and geology. Afterward, a short 10-minute walk will take you to the glacier’s edge.

At the glacier’s edge, your guide will demonstrate how to put on the crampons and provide a safety briefing on navigating glacier hazards and using the required equipment. Safety is always the top priority.

This glacier experience offers an accessible hike on the breathtaking Sólheimajökull glacier, led by an expert guide who is also a skilled photographer. The glacier is a year-round marvel, and the hike is available in all seasons, allowing you to explore its beauty no matter when you visit.

The hike will begin with a walk through ash-covered crevasses left by previous eruptions of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano. You’ll traverse the icy terrain of this mesmerizing glacier, marveling at its towering ice walls and intricate formations.

Along the way, we’ll stop at several stunning spots to capture breathtaking photos. Directions from Reykjavík

After Skógar, drive 6 km (3.7 mi) and take a left turn (just after the bridge) onto road 221. Continue on road 221 for about 5 km (3 mi) until you reach the Sólheimajökull parking area.

Directions from Vík

After passing road 222, drive 3 km (1.9 mi) and take a right turn just before the bridge onto road 221. Follow road 221 for about 4 km to reach the Sólheimajökull parking area.

Important Information It’s recommended to arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled tour departure to use the restroom facilities. There won’t be any available during the tour. Your guide will be waiting in a red Range Rover at the parking lot. Departure will be punctual, so please arrive on time to ensure you don’t miss the tour.

Truly fascinating experiece with Deividas on the glacier!!! The most important thing for me was safety because I never step on the glacier. Only here you can have such a big tour for such low price! Just Wow! i was not expecting such a breath taking experience! and our guide, Deividas, he was like a real pro. we had private tour for the price of big group, we visited 2 big ice caves and time in the ice caves was over 30min, and we were only ones in the cave! also Deividas surprised us with hammock! it was really impressive experience!
